CF8 corresponds to 304 stainless steel, containing 18% chromium and 8% nickel. CF8M corresponds to 316 stainless steel, which adds 2-3% molybdenum for enhanced corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and certain chemical environments. CF8M is specified for more corrosive industrial applications.
